INVESTMENT GRADE FIXED INCOME AND SHORT DURATION HIGH YIELD

INVESTMENT GRADE FIXED INCOME

Chartwell’s management philosophy here stresses security selection, preservation of principal, and compounding of the income stream. We focus our research efforts in the corporate sector of the market, because the return potential of any bond tends to be asymmetric. With limited capital appreciation potential, but considerably greater capital loss potential, we target high quality credits with stable-to-improving profiles rather than chasing “cheap” deteriorating credits.

SHORT DURATION HIGH YIELD

Chartwell’s Short Duration High Yield strategies stress preservation of principal and compounding income with bonds that we believe trade at attractive relative values. The strategies invests primarily in short duration high yield debt securities and strives to limit interest rate risk by maintaining an average maturity of less than 5 years.
